Edit and Delete an IPv6 Pool

Overview​

Opening an IPv6 pool from the list lets you change its details or delete it. The Edit screen has a Config tab and an Audit Timeline tab.

Who Can Use This Feature​

Network administrators and engineers.

Required Permissions​

  • IPv6 Pool → Update to edit.
  • IPv6 Pool → Delete to delete.

Prerequisites​

Networking → IPv6 Pool → click the pool name.

Edit a pool​

  1. On the IPv6 Pool list, click the Pool Name.
  2. On the Config tab, change the Pool Name, Pool Description, Network or Prefix Length as needed.
  3. Select Update.

The Edit screen also has an Audit Timeline tab — see Common Features.

Delete a pool​

  1. Open the pool.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm by entering your password (and an optional remark) when prompted.

⚠ Deleting a pool removes the block. If addresses in it are assigned, check the Used addresses list first.

What Happens After Saving​

Edits update the pool and are recorded in the Audit Timeline. Deleting removes the pool after password confirmation.

Important Notes​

  • Deletion asks for your account password — a safeguard against accidental removal.
  • Changing the Network/Prefix Length can strand already-assigned addresses.

Common Mistakes​

  • Changing the block while addresses are still assigned.
  • Deleting a pool that is in use.
