Edit a Node (and Alerts)

Overview

Editing a node lets you change its details and location, set up outage alerts for the node (available only when editing), and see the subscribers assigned to it. Like the zone editor, the node Edit screen has Config, Alert and Audit Timeline tabs.

Who Can Use This Feature

Network administrators and field/network staff.

Required Permissions

  • Node → Update to change the node.
  • Node → Show to view it and its assigned subscribers.

Prerequisites

Networking → Zone / NodeNode tab → Edit on a node.

Config tab

The Config tab holds the same fields as when adding a node — Name, Description, Latitude, Longitude (with Locate On Map), Zone and Enabled — pre-filled with the current values. Select Update to save.

See Add a Node for the field descriptions.

Alert tab (edit-only)

The Alert tab warns you when too many subscribers on the node go offline — helpful for spotting a problem at that equipment point.

  1. Turn on Alert Enabled.
  2. Choose the Alert Channels (Email / SMS / WhatsApp).
  3. Set the Alert Threshold (%) — the offline percentage that triggers the alert.
  4. Enter the Alert Mobile No and/or Alert Email.
  5. Select Update on the Alert tab.
FieldRequiredDescriptionExample
Alert EnabledNoTurns node alerts on.On
Alert ChannelsIf enabledWhere the alert is sent (Email / SMS / WhatsApp).SMS
Alert Threshold (%)Yes (if enabled)Offline percentage that triggers the alert.40
Alert Mobile NoNoNumber for SMS/WhatsApp alerts.(mobile)
Alert EmailNoAddress for email alerts.(email)

⚠ Node alerts send real messages — configure the channel first and choose a sensible threshold.

Assigned Subscribers

The Edit screen also lists the subscribers assigned to this node, so you can see who is served by it.

What Happens After Saving

Config changes update the node (including its map position). Alert settings save separately via the Alert tab and start watching the node's offline percentage.

Important Notes

  • The Alert tab is only available when editing a node, not when adding one.
  • Keep coordinates accurate so the node and its alerts map correctly.

Common Mistakes

  • Expecting one Update button to save both tabs — Config and Alert each save separately.
  • Enabling alerts without configuring the chosen channel.
